I like those outposts, they fascinate me and read a couple of books about Reynald of Chatillon, who was a bit of a character, even by the standards of some of the other crusaders.

I was there today as well! Drove between the two in about 90 minutes. Back in Amman now.

I found a couple of weeks ago in Saudi Arabia that I like Karak tea - and today had a cup sitting outside the castle!

When we first got to Oxford and had very little money, I would take the coach into Victoria for games and,/or research trips.

I think big old(ish) things were pretty novel, as was bustle. Got over that in few months.

Re: Happy Easter
I am almost certain I picked up my first known bout of 'Rona on a National Express coach to Kent just before Christmas (thanks, you striking train driver C###S!)

I had to catch the coach at Victoria Coach Station. Feck me, that place is grim. It stinks of piddle, bad plumbing and the unwashed zombies that shuffle about the place or are lurking inside filthy sleeping bags, pupating into christ knows what. Should be grateful it was only Covid and not rabies or Marburg.

Spent ages on an IHT form for mum's estate, trying to keep busy since she passed and am in full admin mode. Forgot about the use by date on a joint of beef that I purchased a few days ago, only one day so will cook and risk later and see if I can find an uplifting film on somewhere!

A fantastic Sunday roast (sirloin) in the village local, followed by a copious amount of Guinness.
Happy Easter one and all (assuming we're still allowed to mention/celebrate this holiday)
